Friday's Entertainment Schedule
 
7:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Anything but gumbo and lots of alligator!
  • Approximately 50 teams will cook anything BUT gumbo during lunchtime on Saturday.
  • Selections often include jambalaya, corn and crab bisque, fried fish, red beans and rice, funnel cakes and other desserts.
  • The general public purchases tickets for food sampling and for cold drinks, cold beer and mixed drinks. Prizes vary.

"Cook 'Em" Here's the Gumbo

  • It's the "Battle of the Rouxs”—the actual gumbo cooking competing begins at 6:00AM.
  • Gumbo tasting begins at 11:00 AM
  • Approximately 90 teams compete for the World Championship Gumbo Cook-Off title. Amateurs compete in the seafood, chicken and sausage, and mélange categories.
  • Tickets are $4.00 for seafood and $3.00 for non-seafood.
  • Cold drinks, cold beer and mixed drinks are available for purchase.
  • Winners are announced at 3:30 PM.
