A love for all things Iberia Parish is what drives Chamber board member and local realtor Andree’ Schlicher to set trends not only in her professional circle, but within the Chamber as well. Schlicher is still completing her first official year as a Chamber board member and she is already taking home the title of Quarter Three Membership Engagement Champion for her team the Seven Wonders. The Chamber’s Board is divided into teams who compete to spread the word about the Chamber to businesses, and so far Schlicher has encouraged four new businesses to join the Chamber; The Spa, New Iberia Rotary Club, Can Row Golf & Turf Club, and the New Iberia Optimist Club!

Besides her involvement with the Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce, Schlicher is a top realtor within McGee Scott Realty, where she was part of the inaugural team for starting that now regional company, a volunteer for the World Championship Gumbo CookOff, Leadership Iberia alumni, current board president for Iberia Habitat for Humanity, past president of the New Iberia Optimist Club, Eucharistic Administrator at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church, Her Royal Hi-ness 2021 for the Berry Queens, and Queen 2017 of the Krewe of Andalusia. Schlicher has always been a champion for her community, but she credits the motivation to stay involved to her participation in Leadership Iberia, an annual leadership development program facilitated by GICC. “Learning so much more about the place I was born and raised in and currently live in was transformative. That experience introduced me to many facets of our economy and community that I previously had no idea of how they worked. It gave me such a huge push to get involved in preserving some of my favorite parts of Iberia Parish.”

Schlicher says it feels incredibly rewarding to be achieving what long-time board members of the Chamber are currently achieving, as a first-year board member. “I’ve been attending the Chamber’s Annual Banquet for years prior to my involvement on the board, and have heard about all the things the Chamber does within our community so when the opportunity come to represent this organization by being on the board, it was a natural decision,” says Schlicher.

“It is rewarding to work alongside of leaders and also to be inspired by leaders like Andree’ Schlicher. Our organization is grateful for her dedication to the Chamber, our members, and Iberia Parish,” reports Thomas Falgout, Chamber CEO.
