NEW IBERIA – Companies looking to hire welders, HVAC repairmen, truck drivers, carpenters, electricians, and other skilled tradesmen will be at an Industrial Trades Job Fair February 7. The Fair is being hosted by SLCC’s Corporate College and will be held from 9 a.m. until noon at SLCC’s New Iberia Campus located at 908 Ember Dr.

This is a free event that is open to the public. Job seekers can pre-register for the Industrial Trades Job Fair at http://bit.ly/IdustrialTrades. Job seekers are encouraged to dress professionally and bring copies of their work history and industry certifications.

“With our first Industrial Trades Job Fair having been such as success for businesses and job seekers, we are hosting the February event in response to several requests,” said Nancy Roy, Outreach and Engagement Coordinator for SLCC’s Corporate College. “Job fairs are the perfect setting for companies and job seekers in the industrial trades. These events allow recruiters to pre-screen potential employees and for job seekers to meet those that already work in that field and ask questions.”

Local companies will be able to exhibit at no charge. SLCC’s Corporate College requires only that you have current job openings or will have job openings within the next 60 days in the industrial trades such as transportation, construction, manufacturing, distribution, automotive repair, or HVAC repair. Exhibitors must register before January 31 at http://bit.ly/SLCCJobFair2.
