ICCHC Celebrates 35 Years of Quality Health Care

Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center, Inc. and its Board of Directors and staff are proud to announce its celebration of 35 years of quality community healthcare. Our anniversary festivities will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at 6:00 pm at the Pavilion at Cypress Bayou Casino, located at 832 Martin Luther King Road in Charenton, LA. Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Corey Hebert of New Orleans, one of the most illustrious physicians practicing medicine in the U.S. today.
Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center, Inc. is a non-profit, community-based, federally qualified health center established in 1985. Over its 35 years in existence, it has grown to include eight sites throughout Southwest Louisiana. Our mission is “comprehensive healthcare for everyone” and we strive to provide high-quality, affordable healthcare to all of our patients in the parishes of Iberia, Lafayette, St. Martin, Vermilion, Sabine, Vernon, and Beauregard. A staff of nearly 200 highly qualified health professionals works daily to meet the needs of those in Southwestern Louisiana.
In 2018, ICCHC gave services to approximately 27,000 patients who generated 91,000 visits. 11,733 of our patients were at 100% and below the federal poverty levels. Thanks to Medicaid Expansion, our uninsured was 18% which was down from pre-Medicaid Expansion which hovered around 66%. Still 87.8% of our patients are considered low-income. We cared for a very vulnerable population which included 4,667 children, 1.3% Veterans, 1.5% Agricultural Workers, and 1.6% of our population was homeless. ICCHC is also an Economic engine for the community. Our Total Economic Impact on the community was $28.6 Million. Our model also saved the healthcare system approximately $50 million by lowering the cost of care to Medicaid Patients.
